Value-Added Services
ASSEMBLY

To complement our injection moulding capabilities, Plastics 2000 provides assembly and value-added manufacturing services, enabling customers to receive finished components or sub-assemblies rather than individual moulded parts.

By integrating assembly into our manufacturing process, we help reduce supply-chain complexity, minimise handling, and improve overall production efficiency. Assembly requirements are defined in collaboration with each customer to ensure consistency, quality and repeatability.

Our assembly services, facilitated on our factory floor and designated assembly room, are suitable for both straightforward and more complex products, supporting a wide range of industrial, technical and consumer applications.

ASSEMBLY CAPABILITIES

Our in-house assembly services can include:

  • Mechanical assembly of injection moulded components
  • Multi-part plastic assemblies
  • Insertion of threaded inserts or fixings
  • Fastening and basic joining operations
  • Preparation for packaging and onward distribution

All assembly processes are carried out with the same attention to quality and control as our injection moulding operations.

BENEFITS OF IN-HOUSE ASSEMBLY

By combining injection moulding and assembly within one streamlined process, we can help improve efficiency, shorten lead times and maintain greater control over quality from start to finish.

This joined-up assembly approach helps ensure components move smoothly from production to final preparation without unnecessary delays or additional complexity. Additional benefits of assembly include:

  • Reduced logistics and handling costs
  • Improved quality control through a single manufacturing partner
  • Faster lead times from moulding to finished product
  • Simplified supplier and project management

Case Study
BUBBLEBUM

BubbleBum UK is a Northern Ireland-founded child travel safety brand best known for creating the world’s first inflatable booster seat. It was founded by Gráinne Kelly after struggling with bulky traditional booster seats while travelling with her own children, turning that frustration into a lightweight, portable safety solution for families. The business launched in 2009 with a mission to make child travel safer, easier and more convenient, taking the US and EU markets by storm.

In 2021, we were contacted to discuss the support of a new product concept, the BubbleBum Teleport. Years of design, production and testing support has brought the product to launch in 2025. To facilitate the completion of this project, Plastics 2000 invested heavily in their first assembly facility dedicated fully to after-work services for customer components/products where required.
